The Gospel

THE GOSPEL IS THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF GOOD NEWS! THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS AND WAS RAISED TO LIFE FOR OUR JUSTIFICATION (ROMANS 4:25).

PART 1: THE CREATION

God created the heavens and the earth. He spoke everything into existence from nothing. He created Adam and Eve in his image to reflect Him. They were created with the grand purpose of worshipping God by loving Him, serving Him, and enjoying a relationship with Him. There was no sin, suffering, sickness, or death. Everything was in complete harmony.

PART 2: THE FALL

In the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were deceived by Satan into thinking that God did not have their best interests in mind. They rebelled against God by choosing to disobey God’s word. The results were devastating. Sin entered into creation and the perfect relationship between and God and man was broken. The consequence for sin was death. As descendants of Adam and Eve all human beings are born as sinners. Each one of us has chosen rebellion and disobedience to God. We have broken God’s laws and as a result, deserve to be punished forever in hell.

PART 3: THE RESCUE

Every human being is guilty of sin and stands condemned before God, but God demonstrates incredible grace to us. God loved the world so much that he sent his one and only son into the world, not to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Jesus Christ came from heaven and was God in the flesh. He lived a perfect life without sin in holy righteousness. Jesus died on the cross as a substitute absorbing the wrath of God due to sinners. He arose three days later in triumph over sin and death, and forty days later returned to Heaven where he reigns as the rightful king.

PART 4: THE RESTORATION

Sin is still a part of our lives because God has yet to fully eradicate sin on the earth. However, the full penalty for sin was paid by Jesus Christ on the cross. God does not desire that any one should perish but for all to come to repentance, turning from sin to God. By faith, we must trust in Jesus alone for salvation, and not in our own efforts. Jesus said that no one can enter the Kingdom of Heaven unless he is born again. Cry out to God for mercy and he will show mercy to you.
