Church Buildings

As we continue to move toward launching River City Church in Swissvale one of the first questions that we get asked is “Where’s your church?” Since we don’t have a church building I have found this to be a great conversation starter. Most people assume that a church is a building and nothing else. However, according to the New Testament, the word “church” can refer to all Christians everywhere (Colossians 1:18), Christians in a local region (Acts 9:31), or a group of local believers in one location (1 Corinthians 1:2). Our primary view of church is a group of Christians who are redeemed by God and called to be ambassadors of the gospel where we live (2 Corinthians 5:20). imgres

Therefore, we believe we are a church not because we are a group of people who own a building, but because we have joined together to grow in Christ and to make him known to others. We are looking for others who God is calling to join us in celebrating the gospel together and spreading the gospel through the people of River City Church. Will you join us?
