If a person only thinks of churches as tall buildings in residential areas, then Pittsburgh like most of America, does not need another church. However, if a person sees the church as a group of Christians who have been redeemed by Christ and called by God to love one another and serve the world as a response to God’s gospel then Pittsburgh, like most of America, needs more churches. According to a recent study by the Pew Research Center, one-fifth of the U.S. public – and a third of adults under 30 – are religiously unaffiliated today…and that number continues to increase.
Church planting is not about building more buildings, it’s about gospel-sharing and disciple-making. Because we have been radically changed by God’s grace we desperately want others to hear the good news as well. As we faithfully follow Jesus Christ we want to be disciples who make disciples for the glory of God. Will you join the River City Church team as we love God together in worship, share our lives together as a community of believers, and serve our world in love?
